M&L from Oxfordshire travelled to Kenya

Second time with Safari Consultants to Kenya, and as on the previous trip we found them to be deeply knowledgeable, very responsive, and arrangements in Kenya to work very smoothly. The two destinations visited in Kenya this trip – Laikipia Wilderness and in particular a six day walk with camels organised by Karisia – were quite exceptional. Really expert guiding, thrilling yet still confidence-inspiring encounters on foot with elephant and buffalo, lion around all night, considerable comfort and dedicated and friendly staff. Go there: you will remember it forever, and will also be supporting exemplary conservation in Laikipia.

Linda, Luc, Tania and Bianca from Canada travelled to Kenya

Hi Frances, the trip was simply beyond our already very high expectations….I now value the time you took to guide us to the 3 camps…they were each totally different from one another and each were an experience on its own! Tortilis was perfect, and there were lots of animals! Plus we mostly had very clear sky and beautiful sunsets with Kilimanjaro. Our guide was very experienced and we often got very close to various animals such as elephants and lions. We actually saw a Black Mamba which apparently they rarely see! The camp with the water hole in front always busy with animals was great. In Lewa, we enjoyed how different the camp was. A giraffe was often seen on site, the girls enjoyed horseback riding and we did a bush breakfast. The camp in the Masai Mara was totally different. The river with the hippos a few feet away and the noise of the water was a totally different environment! The Kenyan people were amazing! Thanks again!!

David and Se Wah from Dubai travelled to Kenya

Hi Frances, it was a fantastic week; both accommodations were faultless and the game viewing was truly breath taking. The exclusivity of the experience both through the way we were spoilt in the resorts (e.g. dinner under the stars, vehicle & guide specifically for us) and during the game drives (rarely saw other vehicles) made it truly memorable. I would highly recommend each of the locations; Lewa Wilderness provided us a truly tranquil setting with amazing service to fully relax, while Kicheche Mara was a perfect location to immerse yourselves within the fantastic Mara. Thanks again.

Cath and Steve from Shrewsbury travelled to Kenya

Dear Michele, did the holiday live up to our expectations? And then some – it was more than fantastic. It really is the best holiday we have ever had. We enjoyed all the camps and Sonia & Andy made my birthday extra special with the teams traditional songs and a cake. We also watched a lion eat her zebra kill with sundowners on my actual birthday!! I think we have been very lucky first timers – walking safari in Laikipia and “came across” a rhino; we watched cheetah and Cubs eat their kill; saw Nabiki the cheetah and managed to see Fig the Leopard and cub on 3 occasions! Other highlights included lions mating, the marsh pride lions for hours with breakfast…. And then, on our final game drive, when I’d asked to see elephants, giraffe and anything else again – we saw a cheetah kill!!!! By the time we arrived at Diani, I was glad I’d asked for a beach bit, as was Steve! Kinondo Kwetu was amazing and we did manage to do the sacred forest, where it promptly poured down while we were in there. Auspicious according to our guide. And we were glad we went on to the village to see how people do manage to live and survived the coconut wine! Thank you so much Michele for putting together a holiday that is so memorable and enjoyable. And for all the extra touches for my birthday. We will be in touch for the next trip….

Clive and Anne from Suffolk travelled to Kenya and Seychelles

Our very first trip to Africa and we’re certain it will not be our last! Novice to safari experiences – we were pleased to find it ‘ticked every box’ surpassing all our expectations. The huge skyline, the quietness, being so close to wildlife – what a huge privilege it all was. The whole holiday moved smoothly and efficiently from camp to camp. Each camp had something different to offer with the varied landscapes and a superb variety of game. The rhino rich undulating plains of Ol Pejeta to the woodland, ravines and swamps of Lewa – where we saw our first Grevy’s zebra; to the huge open plains of the Masai Mara with oceans of waving savannah grass and enormous sky levels, so rich with game – it gave us our first sighting of leopard. Clive and I would like to thank you all at Safari Consultants for organising this amazing trip of a lifetime for us and ensuring that our experiences were diverse, rich and most wonderful in every aspect.

Philip and Natalie from Lancashire travelled to Kenya

Hi Michele, just a quick email to thank you for all the help with our trip, we had a truly amazing time and everything ran like clockwork. The Boma Hotel was perfect for us; they let us check straight into the room on arrival and we even enjoyed breakfast on the terrace before hitting the sack, then a great afternoon by the pool before a lovely evening meal and a peaceful early night to prepare us for the excitement ahead. Offbeat Meru was a perfect re-introduction to Africa, and the Offbeat camp managers Craig and Ashley were amazing. The Rhino Sanctuary gave us our first ever viewing of rhinos, the whole area was lovely and quiet and as you know the camp is a tiny corner of heaven- perfect recommendation! The Offbeat corner of Mara was teaming with every size of wildlife and very few other vehicles ever ventured down into ” our” area of the conservancy. Basically the Offbeat way is exactly how we like to do Africa and I cannot think of anything negative to report. I will of course complete the questionnaire but just wanted to thank you personally for all your help. Speaking to the guides and managers they seem to agree Zimbabwe should be next on our list!

Rachel and Peter from California got married in Kenya

Hi Frances, we had an amazing trip and a beautiful wedding day! Saruni Samburu was absolutely perfect. The views were stunning, the food was great and the staff were amazing. Everything at Mara Plains was spectacular. The only thing I wish we could have changed was the weather we had at Mara Plains (it rained all 4 days), but it only added to the adventure, floods and all. It was the trip of a lifetime and we will never forget it.  Thanks again for everything!

Jackie and Chris from London travelled to Kenya

Frances was AMAZING and so incredibly helpful for this whole process. We had never been to Africa and had nowhere to start and she really took the time to understand what we were after and was so kind handholding us through the process. We loved Sosian so much that we are seriously considering getting married there. From arrival, to the guides, to absolutely everyone – everything was taken care of and everyone was so nice and friendly. We honestly couldn’t fault Sosian in any place. Thank you Frances for recommending this place – we truly loved it. Kicheche: we saw loads of game and we really liked our guide – his name was Francis and he was lovely and managed to find all the animals when no one else did. We also thought the food was good. We did absolutely love Africa and think we will make this an annual trip.
