Tony and Susan from Vancouver Island, Canada travelled to Kenya

Hi Mary. Just got back last night and are still in a jet lag fog with the 11 hour difference. Thanks to you, the trip was unspeakably wonderful and will be hard to beat. We will fill you in when we are recovered and perhaps send you a couple of our highlights in photos.
With warm thanks.

Michael and Carys from London travelled on safari around Kenya

Dear Rob, that was the most spectacularly good holiday, and you will not be surprised to learn that after a sceptical start – in your office – I fell in love with Kenya and Kenyans. Thank you for putting together such a great programme for us. All those camps were nothing short of excellent and we were very grateful to you for all the advice which you provided so rapidly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your company to anyone who enquired. Thank for you one of the best holidays we have ever had!

Kate and Tim from London travelled to Kenya

Hello Bill, we had a great time, thanks, and the Mara in particular was wonderful, despite there being no wildebeest to speak of, as we had great cat viewings and it was all extremely verdant due to recent rains. All in all, it was an oasis of calm and pleasure in the midst of lots of upheaval and hard work, so thank you for sorting it out for us as seamlessly as ever.

Bob and Joan from Nottingham travelled around Kenya

Hi Michele, another fab. holiday & here’s a quick idea of the game situation. Meru was very green & we didn’t expect to see much but they knew of a previous lion kill so we saw them snacking on the remains on our 1st. game drive. The following morning we found 4 more from a different pride & then at breakfast Dominic caught a glimpse of one near a bush. We jolted down the hill & found 6 resting under a couple of bushes, another pride that they hadn’t known about. That made a total of 20 lions in 24 hours! There were lots of elephants & all the usual gang. At Steve’s camp there were lots (3 packs) of wild dogs with very good sightings. We had 2 good sightings of leopards – 3 of them posing beautifully for us. Kicheche had 2 very well fed cheetahs (on the night drive), 2 bat eared foxes & all the usual crowd. After I had told everyone that Ol Malo is our favourite camp despite not having much game I counted 22 elephants & 4 kudu from our room when we arrived – the official welcome committee! The next morning wild dogs again & posing very patiently for us & then they came back for a couple who were on the horses. We saw more game than ever before!

Katrine, Linus and Oscar from France travelled to the Masai Mara in Kenya over New Year

Hi Michele, thank you once again for a truly memorable holiday! As always, your advice, efficiency and professionalism were perfect. Your arrangements all went like clockwork and we had a terrific time at Kicheche Bush Camp. Emma & Darren are great hosts, with nothing too much trouble. Charles is a superb guide, always in the right spot, and the sightings were simply amazing. We saw leopard every day bar one – Fig is such a beauty, I could watch her all day. There were lions aplenty, playful cubs, youths and mating adults, and we saw cheetahs most days too. We were also lucky enough to see a caracal hunting – she brought down a scrub hare in front of us. The boys had a terrific time too, with Oscar particularly enjoying the moment when we nearly got stuck half-way across a swollen, crocodile-infested river and water started to flood into the vehicle…Linus had buffalo bumping into his tent one night (they say their eyesight is poor …!), and Darren set up a motion-detecting camera outside Oscar’s tent to see what was moving around. So, thrills and excitement day and night!! A big thank you from all of us for organising such a brilliant holiday!

Katie and family from Chelmsford travelled to Kenya over Christmas

Dear Michele, Happy New Year! Well, we are back having had a marvellous week in Kenya. Thank you so much for organising it so beautifully. I will give you a running description of how it all went! We loved Lewa so much. Beautifully run – Karmushu was a brilliant manager as was Zoe. Food, amusingly British, but very good. Treacle pudding! Nothing too much trouble. Game viewing was excellent. Cheetah kill on the first drive! Elephants, zebra, giraffes, two dozy lions, etc…On Christmas Day we went on a horseback ride and then were surprised (totally) by a special breakfast laid out for us and then a ride back to camp on camels. Guides were excellent. Louisa cried when she left she had loved it so much. Off to Kicheche – all flights good. Darren and Emma run an excellent camp. Louisa was, however, terrified about being in an unfenced tented camp with a large pride of lions nearby. So, unfortunately, I am not sure she enjoyed it so much as she sat up all night worrying! But she survived. But the boys absolutely loved being there, particularly David. We saw lions, cheetah, leopard kill, serval and caracal and all the usual. Lots of babies which I liked. Very good food. Beautifully looked after. Our guide was fine although not particularly chatty. Hope this helps as an overview. We loved our holiday! Thank you so much.

Overall, I was very impressed with the offering from Safari Consultants – both in terms of the in-depth knowledge of the country and the camps, and also the personable service from our consultant – Mary Grimwood. It was Mary’s service that made me decide to go ahead with Safari Consultants, in particular her: In depth knowledge of the camps and Kenya; Guidance as we shaped the itinerary; Prompt response to (many) queries and clarifications; being always at ease and managing my expectations well. I will be returning to Safari Consultants again in the future!
