Caroline and Carolyn travelled to the Laikipia and Masai Mara regions in Kenya
Hi Michele, very many thanks. It was a superb holiday! Both places were really fabulous and yes we saw not only cheetah but also wild dogs including a litter of 13 pups – which are apparently v rare in Kenya if not also elsewhere. The Mara House stay really blew me away however and I would certainly consider going back! Let alone the beautiful house and setting, the staff there were superb – more than going the extra mile for us every day. Our guide was Dixon and Dennis looked after us mainly on the food/house side. They worked very hard but were also very pleasant and easygoing company and we had plenty of conversations to find out what life was like for the local people – how they lived, their culture, values and what they ate etc. Truly enlightening and thought-provoking about what really matters vis a vis the over-materialistic pampered world of the West! So a high really high recommendation there from me! Very many thanks for all you have done – and your fabulous choice of places for us. I have the safari – if not the Kenya – bug now, so it may be that you hear from me again. Thank you again!![]()

Dear Michele, many thanks to you and the Safari Consultants team for arranging yet another fantastic holiday. The Mountain Gorilla experience was memorable and the trekking centre well managed ensuring all guests enjoyed a trek they were capable of completing and we enjoyed a life changing experience with our visits to two gorilla families; we will never forget this fantastic honour. The Kicheche experience was absolutely fantastic from the moment we arrived at the Mara Camp to the time we left the Bush Camp we received excellent friendly service from the management, camp staff and guides. The game viewing opportunities were superb and the guides ensured we enjoyed many opportunities to view a wide variety of game without putting significant pressure on the animals. Once again many thanks to you. We are planning to return to Kenya at some time and we will be looking to you for assistance in planning any future trips.![]()

John and Gail travelled to Kenya on a celebration holiday
Dear Michele, as a follow on from our telephone conversation I would like to thank you, Bill and the Safari Consultants team for delivering a fantastic birthday present for Gail that was beyond both our expectations. When putting together an itinerary for a special occasion there is always that dread that some part will not go to plan however, that was not the case and everything went off extremely smoothly and to the schedule supplied. I would like to compliment you on the selection of the camp sites at Laikipia, the Mara and Amboseli. The standard of accommodation was first class and the staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and look after all your needs. The abundance of wildlife at each location was exceptional and we were fortunate enough to see all the Big 5 and much, much more. The guides were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic about their work. As a surprise for Gail, she was presented with a birthday cake at each camp which was a very kind and thoughtful touch. There are too many highlights and wonderful sights, sounds and encounters to pick out anything individual as the whole package was an outstanding experience and we have the photos and video recordings to look back on and remember in the future. Both Gail and I cannot thank you and your colleagues enough for putting together a holiday that exceeded all expectations. Throughout the whole process we have been provided with suggestions and recommendations based on your companies well found knowledge and experience and proved to be the defining factors in delivering an adventure never to be forgotten. It has been a pleasant and rewarding experience working with you and we would like to wish you all every success going forward.![]()

Michelle, firstly let me thank you for your recommendations, organisation and advice – everything went like clockwork which is no mean feat over 18 nights with plenty of internal travelling – and we were in east Africa!!! Suffice to say we’d rate this as probably our best holiday – and we’ve been lucky enough to go to many great places.![]()

Gary and Kat travelled to Kenya
This was our second great trip with Safari Consultants, this time to the Mara in Kenya (our first time was to Tanzania) we stayed at Mara in Kicheche Mara Camp and our favourite: Kicheche Bush Camp. We got to see a great crossing while at Bush Camp (thanks to our guide Nelson) We had a really great time and are still missing the scenery! We are already planning our next trip to Botswana with Michele at Safari Consultants, and can’t wait for that trip. (Safari Consultants have given us the safari bug!).![]()

Michele we are back and I must say a big thank you to you. Africa lived up to its reputation and we have had a wonderful time. You were mentioned in many conversations, all glowing comments. However some quick thoughts about sightings. 1. The Wild Dog puppies at Liakipia are a delight. 2. The Mara is still packed with Wildebeest and the frequent rain is keeping them on the move. We had a good crossing and others from Kicheche Mara had similar experiences. 3. Kicheche Mara has a very big pride of Lions at the moment which number 28 probably bigger than the Marsh Pride. We saw most of them each day with very interesting interactions. 4. The area around Topi House has two beautiful Male Lions who are brothers and who are looking after the area with three/four females. I have (I hope ) some great video of these two acting as if they had not seen each other for week literally hugging each other. It was a magic moment. 5. Cheetah are never easy to see but there is one who we found twice near the Serena Lodge. She is pregnant so in the next couple of weeks there will be cubs. We saw her hunt twice and on each occasion Salaash got us into a position for me to video her taking a young Tommy. With Cubs she should be in the area for a while. 6. Near Topi House there is a Leopard who has recently given birth to a cub. She and the cub were playing near the road. Good work again by Salaash. Now I need to send you big thanks for the little “extras” you arranged for our anniversary. The Kicheche camps were well prepared. Thanks for all your work behind the scenes. Now as for getting the best guides I have no doubt that we got excellent driver/guides. At Olkiombo we were greeted by Jackson himself which was great to meet up again. Salaash was a gem. Funny and bionic eyes made for a powerful combination. The guys at the Kicheche camps were rather less gregarious but none the less very good at their job. As far as the service you provided, we both thought it was superb when we booked. All the evidence we have now seen and experienced as proved that, not only we, but other travellers share the same view that it is exceptional. Mary was also mentioned by a guest as someone he rated very highly. Having had several conversations with him I would say that he would not say this lightly so another rosette for her and the company. Very best wishes and thanks!![]()

Paul and Lynn travelled on safari and to the beach in Kenya
Hi Michelle, we had a fantastic holiday thanks and took some memorable photos. I would recommend Karen Blixen very highly as the staff were extremely helpful and courteous the setting couldn’t be better. We met some lovely people during our stay. Pinewood itself was also faultless but the surroundings and sights whilst traveling in and out were not pleasant (which is not in your control). Thanks very much for your help in planning this “once in a lifetime” holiday.![]()
