Marvin and Karen from California travelled to Rwanda & Kenya

Dear Mary, we want to thank you so very much for an outstanding experience!!!!! You were so lovely to work with during all of the planning and some of our last minute church changes! What an incredible experience we had!!!!! All of our transports were right on time, clean, and courteous. We learned so much local flavor in talking with our drivers. Virunga Lodge was spectacular. Every detail was seen to. They provided us with spats for the gorilla hike and even cleaned our boots upon return. We sat with groups of other travelers so that was fun to get to know people from all over. FYI: They now have power strips in the rooms and loan out battery operated hair blowers, Both the golden monkey safari and the gorilla safari were fabulous. Very well coordinated and we felt totally safe. We really over-thought the experience before we went…it was a breeze. Ngare Serian was our absolute favorite among favorites. Adrian runs a great lodge. The aaccommodations were so spectacular right on the Mara River. The guide and driver were so well prepared and courteous. Being guided and at night being protected by the Masai warriors was a fun treat. We felt the experience was very authentic. We were totally blessed by a great migration of zebras. We watched 4000-5000 zebras cross over a 2 hour period at the main crossing. I know timing is everything…and we had the timing. We skipped the tree house. It is pretty rough and we so loved our room we did not want to miss a day staying there. Emakoka was a perfect end to the trip. Nairobi is such a busy city we were glad to be able to spend our last night in their peaceful surroundings. We took a late afternoon game drive. The food looked great and the service was so classy. I was a little under the weather that day and did not get a chance to enjoy all of the great food. But Marv said it was great. I recovered the following morning and breakfast was terrific! I would be happy to post any high recommendations I can on whatever sites would be helpful to you and your company. You are the finest! Thank you so much.

Alan and Liz from Norfolk travelled to Rwanda and Kenya

Good Evening Michele. We’ve been back for more than a week now and Liz and I are still recounting tales to anyone prepared to listen! So much to tell and so many pictures to sort through!! What an amazing trip – it certainly exceeded our hopes and dreams and we cannot thank you enough for coming up with such brilliant suggestions for every aspect of the trip. There were so many very special moments that it is just impossible to single out any particular one but spending time with the mountain gorillas has got to be up there but also seeing the rhinos in Lewa, lion cubs in Masai, a Wildebeest being born, a one hour old Hartebeest, a big male giraffe blocking our way between our banda and the main lodge in Lewa, an Eland trying to get into our cottage in Saruni – the list is endless!! You’ve provided us with so many priceless memories – thank you once again.

Mike and Pam travelled to Rwanda, Serengeti National Park and Zanzibar, Tanzania

Hi Mary, we have had such a fantastic time, seen and experienced so much I am not quite sure where to start. Rwanda was a real experience. The gorilla and golden monkey tracking was just brilliant. It does take a few moments for you to realise that yes you are standing just a few feet away from these beautiful animals in their natural habitat. I think the highlight was when the silverback walked directly past us and sat himself against a tree just 2/3 feet away from us. We also saw him mate with one of the females – which the guides told us we were very lucky to witness. A once in a lifetime experience. The game viewing in the Northern Serengeti was just superb. We experienced a crossing equally as good if not better than the best I have seen on TV. You know that something is special when the guide gets his camera out and takes as many photos as you do!! He estimated that there was upwards of 10,000 Wildebeest. Sayari Camp was delightful and Oredi our guide was clearly passionate about his job and so knowledgeable. By the time we got to Zanzibar, we were ready for a rest. Ras Nungwi Hotel was fantastic and what beautiful beaches. We have had a fantastic holiday, the organisation was superb and everything went without a hitch. I have no doubt that we wouldn’t have had such a rewarding experience without your expert guidance and experience of the area.

Anuj, Prithma and Manjiry from London travelled to Rwanda and Kenya

Overall, I was very impressed with the offering from Safari Consultants – both in terms of the in-depth knowledge of the country and the camps, and also the personable service from our consultant – Mary Grimwood. It was Mary’s service that made me decide to go ahead with Safari Consultants, in particular her: In depth knowledge of the camps and Kenya; Guidance as we shaped the itinerary; Prompt response to (many) queries and clarifications; being always at ease and managing my expectations well. I will be returning to Safari Consultants again in the future!

Gerry and Jackie travelled to Rwanda and Kenya

Dear Michele, many thanks to you and the Safari Consultants team for arranging yet another fantastic holiday. The Mountain Gorilla experience was memorable and the trekking centre well managed ensuring all guests enjoyed a trek they were capable of completing and we enjoyed a life changing experience with our visits to two gorilla families; we will never forget this fantastic honour. The Kicheche experience was absolutely fantastic from the moment we arrived at the Mara Camp to the time we left the Bush Camp we received excellent friendly service from the management, camp staff and guides. The game viewing opportunities were superb and the guides ensured we enjoyed many opportunities to view a wide variety of game without putting significant pressure on the animals. Once again many thanks to you. We are planning to return to Kenya at some time and we will be looking to you for assistance in planning any future trips.

Mark and Heather were married in Kenya, and then travelled to Rwanda to see the mountain gorillas

Hi Michele, wedding day was fantastic thank you, leopard up a tree in the morning then two more in the afternoon!!!! Oh and yes we got married too! Seriously it was great, thanks for the work in the background which really made the trip special right from the start. Thank you for the card which we were given on the day…much appreciated. The Palacino upgraded us (thanks to you no doubt) to the biggest hotel room/suite we’ve ever seen………Darren and Emma at Kicheche were outstanding as you’d expect, and the camp were brilliant……….they couldn’t believe how “low maintenance” we were but did a superb job and went to great lengths to ensure everything was very special indeed. They picked a great location under a lone tree on a huge plain that was full of wildebeest…………Darren took loads of pics and Emma did a wonderful job on the video, Patrick and the rest of the troops were brilliant……..it could not have been better. For us it was just perfect, low key, bit of fun, very very personal and really memorable. Rwanda was very good indeed too…………..Primate Safaris did a good job and we were lucky with the sightings (Sibyinyo and Kwitando groups were most obliging!!!). H was dead chuffed that all the paperwork in Rwanda was headed up Mr and Mrs! Nice touch well done!!!!

Austin and Di travelled through Rwanda and Kenya

Dear Bill, this has to be the best trip yet, wonderful sightings everywhere we went. After the gorillas we feared the rest might be a bit of an anti-climax, but it was nothing of the sort: Chimps, Colobus, Blue Monkey and Blue Turaco in Nyungwe, and Rwanda is a beautiful country. Then in Kenya Lewa gave us lion, leopard, cheetah, rhino and many others including lots of birds; Walking Wild with Kitonga was real walking where we saw so much and had a very close encounter with a family of white rhino. Kicheche gave us cats again plus serval, elephant, hippos, crocs and a great range of antelope. Thanks for all your effort in putting the trip together, faultless as ever.

Gareth and Floor travelled on honeymoon to Rwanda and Kenya

We had the most amazing time in Rwanda and Kenya. We were pleasantly surprised visiting Rwanda, as we just did not know what to expect – such a beautiful country and it is very interesting to see how they are rebuilding their towns and roads, but also how hard they work to improve their reputation. A country we would certainly recommend visiting, even more so to experience the best time of our lives by meeting and observing the gorillas. Absolutely stunning! Our time in Kicheche Camp was better then we ever had hoped for: the staff, the location, the view, the wildlife, the wonderful tent, the food, a very informative & fun guide – it all contributed towards the excellent safari experience. We felt we lived in some sort of ‘bubble’: an experience which is difficult to describe at home – that’s how good it was. Michele, your enthusiasm and knowledge made us choose Safari Consultants. We wish we could plan these trips a lot more often!! We appreciate all your help and quick responses at all times. Thank you! Hope to speak to you again.
