Bob, Denise and Jean travelled to the Selous and Ruaha in southern Tanzania

A great holiday and many thanks to you for putting it together; we really enjoyed ourselves. Overall the camps were very good and the staff and the service they provided were excellent. Very much enjoyed the remoteness and visitor density at Ruaha. For example on one drive we spent about an hour with a cheetah and never saw another land rover (in fact if a recall correctly we didn’t see another vehicle for the entire drive). I don’t think you get that in the Mara or even on the northern Tanzania circuit! We would certainly recommend the holiday, and Safari Consultants to anyone that was think of going on safari. We will be going back to Africa in the future, when we do we will certainly be in touch again.

Scott and Miranda travelled on honeymoon to Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Zanzibar

Hi Michele, We had a fantastic time and saw so many animals! Faru Faru was out of this world, probably the best hotel / lodge we have ever stayed in. The hosts were lovely and we loved the atmosphere of the place, luxury but very informal. The game drives from there were fantastic, we saw so many animals and it really felt like we were in the middle of the Serengeti and hardly saw any other Singita jeeps. We also saw a kill too, by a lioness which was fantastic. The Plantation Lodge was also great, we had a huge room and the food was fantastic. The crater was good to go to on our first few days, but yes there were a lot of jeeps as you said and felt more like a safari park, but we did see lots of animals there and the crater itself was incredible. Our guide, Martin from Asilia was also very nice. Matemwe was lovely, we really like the informal relaxed feel about the place and we caught up on lots of sleep. Again, the food was fantastic and really varied for such a small lodge. All the transfers worked really well and everyone was there in time which made things very easy. Thanks again for a fantastic and easy trip. PS The honeymoon and birthday touches were also very nice, Faru Faru even made Scott an early birthday cake.

James and Jill travelled to Selous, Ruaha and Zanzibar in Tanzania

Dear Michele, just back from an excellent holiday – many thanks for your organisation which was pretty faultless. Connections all worked well and the lodges, especially Mwagusi camp in Ruaha, were lovely. The game guides in both places were great and very knowledgeable about birds, again especially Mwagusi. Organisational staff there were excellent too. I stupidly left my handbag on the small plane on arrival into Selous and that was returned to me the following day with all its contents – amazing. I wrote to Coastal airlines to thank them. Planes are very small and 15k luggage really is tops. Laundry service is excellent – all done in 24 hours. Zanzibar – Matemwe was lovely – it takes an hour to get there and the last 3 kms are over very bumpy roads. We met Miranda and Scott whose trip you had organised and they seemed pleased too. BA world traveller plus was a godsend for 2 tall people like us. Many thanks again. I have filled in the questionnaire and will post to you if you want me to. I would be happy to recommend your services to anyone.

Jim and Kaye travelled to Southern Tanzania

The safari was absolutely brilliant!!!! The 3 camp experiences were all excellent, and with enough contrast to really feel that we were somewhere different each time, so the split between them worked really well. Thanks Jane so much for all the efforts in organising & tailoring this fantastic holiday!

Patrick and Marian travelled to the northern parks of Tanzania, as well as the Selous and Zanzibar

Dear Rob, thank you so much for the many hours you must have spent in putting together such a great holiday – it really paid off! We had good sightings – lions, lots of elephant and buffalo in Tarangire. The pack of wild dogs at Ubuntu was really special (if rather gruesome). I kept a diary of all the experiences, so will be able to keep the memories going! Our three guides were excellent – very knowledgeable indeed in identifying birds and animals (very sharp eyes!) and charming and fun to be with – very courteous and helpful too. They all had great organisational skills.

Geoff and Beate travelled to Kenya and Zanzibar

Dear Michele, A very big THANK YOU for the amazing holiday in Kenya and Zanzibar. After receiving information from two other organisations, I was not happy and my instinct told me to look further afield and this was a decision that I shall be thankful for. You knew exactly what we were looking for and even with the short notice you came up with a perfect itinerary and provided every detail necessary. Your advice about tipping, clothing, luggage etc., was followed and paid dividends. I do not know how you managed it, but the amount of time at each Kicheche Camp and at Ras Nungwi and Stonetown was perfect. Not too little and not too much. What I was dreading the most was meetings and transfers as I have had bad experiences. There was no need for concern as everything went off without a hitch and we had the most wonderful people meet us and make sure we were taken care of. I think our biggest hassle was filling out Immigration cards on the aircraft. If you especially arranged for us to see every wildlife imagineable – then thank you. I don’t think we missed anything. My only (half-hearted) complaint was that the food and drinks was so superb I put on weight. Thank you Michele and everyone at Safari Consultants, We shall be back.

John & Lisa travelled on honeymoon to Tanzania

We sought advice from a number of tour operators but when we met Jane she really understood the kind of honeymoon experience we were looking for and used her own experience and expertise to help shape the perfect agenda for us. We were provided with detailed information before the trip and Jane was happy to speak with us at any time (day or night) to answer our questions. Being an adventurous couple we decided to pack our honeymoon full of various experiences and I can honestly say that Jane ensured we were made to feel special at every location, we had a really magical and unforgettable experience. She treated us like friends rather than like clients and when we come to do our next safari there’s no doubt that we’ll go back to Jane to help us put together another amazing trip.

Sidney travelled to Selous, Ruaha and Zanzibar

Dear Rob, thank you for your ‘Welcome Home’ letter. I must say, I was not glad to be home. I didn’t want to leave when we moved on to Zanzibar from Ruaha, and I didn’t want to leave Zanzibar, when it was time to go home! It was a wonderful holiday and all arrangements were fantastic. Selous and Ruaha were different and I enjoyed them both. However, Ruaha was the highspot. In 2001, when Elaine and I went to Botswana we met a couple of guys who had been in Ruaha and they recommended it so highly, I determined to go one day. It took ten years, but was worth the wait. The landscape is varied and is incredibly beautiful. There is masses of game and not many people. I absolutely loved it. Thanks to you and your team for organising everything so well and ensuring that all travel arrangements worked perfectly.

Charlie, Laura and family travelled to Kenya and Zanzibar

Thanks for getting in touch Mary. We had a magical time, particularly at the Kicheche Camp which everyone loved. It was a great choice. Probably should have spent more time there on reflection and less at the beach, but don’t worry, the Baraza Resort was terrific as well. The only (minor) downside was all the travelling, particularly on the way back but we knew that was going to happen and it’s one of those things. Thank you very much for all your efforts in organising it, and being so calm when we had to switch it all around. Top job!
