Geoffrey and Teresa from Oxfordshire travelled to Zambia and Zimbabwe

Hello Mary, overall…a great, most enjoyable & successful trip. Arrangements all immaculate with excellent rooms/ guides allocated. Thank you! Highlights…29 leopards in about 22 sightings including family with kill, 2 very close encounters which had adrenalin going and 1 who ran hard at us and we thought he may jump in! Some excellent photos and some of the most memorable encounters with leopards, lions and elephants we have experienced in 20 years+ of safaris. Kuyenda – Excellent! Best camp, best guide/armed ranger (Kelvin & Isaiah), best food and outstanding hosting from Babette & Phil. Attention to detail and simple bush style memorable. Old Mondoro – Great camp and friendly hosts Dave & Tess. Chiawa – Some great spots and encounters. Ruckomechi – Lovely room & setting. Kango – Really good camp, friendly welcome and staff. Good guide Bono who got us so close to pack of 28 Wild Dog under trees. Victoria Falls Hotel – Wonderful and loved our stay! Very attentive staff with some real stars. Very pleased with all your arrangements!

Christopher and Rosemary from Wiltshire travelled to South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia

We would like to thank you so much, especially Michele for all your advice and help. The arrangements were not the most straightforward but you had carried them out so that everything ran seamlessly. I did not want to return to the UK and can’t wait for our next visit. I will be starting to plan again with Michele as soon as I finish the laundry!! Thank you so much.

Virginia and Alisha from Australia travelled to South Africa and Zimbabwe

Hi Rob, just want to say thank you for helping to organise Alisha and my trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe. I must say I was a little hesitant that the trip may not live up to the memories of our Kenyan trip in 2013. Well I am happy to say that whilst this trip was different (which is what you want) it was every bit as wonderful. Umkumbe – our guide, Mauritz, was excellent and whilst animal sightings were hard to find he put in an almighty effort. Accommodation and food were great. At Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls the elephant back safari was brilliant and helicopter flight over the falls – spectacular. Finished the day with a relaxing sunset river cruise and some good animal sightings along the shore. The lodge and staff were terrific. Camp Hwange – from the minute we were picked up at the gate we knew this was going to be a great few days. Our guide Quinn was brilliant, the other staff at camp were lovely too. The food and accommodation fantastic. Really enjoyed the walking – walking up to the bull elephant was a little scary but thrilling at the same time. The birds were amazing especially the martial eagle with its genet kill. Our final morning was particularly memorable as we were woken by the male lions roaring quite close to camp and were able to catch up with them and the lionesses and cubs. Then on our drive back to the gate we came across a large pride of lionesses and their cubs (12 or more). Thanks again for all your help and advice. This trip has once again left us wanting more and I hope to be organising another adventure in the not too distant future. Botswana here we come!

Clinton and Suzi from Winchester travelled to Zimbabwe

Dear Michele, we flew in safely on Thursday afternoon having had the most wonderful holiday in Zimbabwe. Everything that you fixed for us worked like clockwork and we are extremely grateful to you for all the planning and organisation you put into it. We found the Victoria Falls Hotel beautifully refurbished with the staff as charming and helpful as usual. Thank you for getting us a room overlooking the falls. The food was excellent and we loved our 2 days. I did put one small point on the questionnaire you sent us stating that the street vendors at The Falls were a bit of a nuisance and wouldn’t take no for an answer but on the other hand we appreciate they are unemployed and desperate for money. Camp Hwange was fantastic, the camp was perfect and in a great position. The staff were charming and helpful and the food was excellent. The guiding was exceptional; we had 2 guides Quinn being the senior and Stephen as a second. We walked everyday and did drives too and they did their best to show us as much game as they could. Quinn’s knowledge of the bush and animals was very impressive. Bearing in mind it was early in the season, the grass was still tall, there was a lot of water about due to late rains and the foliage was still on the trees we did extremely well and our last afternoon was memorably spent next to a lion with 2 lionesses and 2 cubs next to their kill – what more can you ask for! As you know we also spent 4 nights on a very smart houseboat on Kariba with friends which was great but fishing for bream not so good! Two nights at Inn on Rupurara at Inyanga was excellent too and I would highly recommend it. Thank you so much for all your organisation, it worked like clockwork and our holiday exceeded our expectations by a long way. We found most people we talked to in Zimbabwe reasonably optimistic and both Vic Falls and Camp Hwange were doing well with visitors from all over the world, but not many British I’m sad to say.

Nicole and Guy from Essex travelled to Zimbabwe

Dear Rob, overall the experience was amazing. The conditions for travelling around were brilliant. Roads v good. And country very safe, people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The tourism infrastructure is good. Matobo Hills was fabulous and well worth a visit. And the caves with ancient paintings were wonderful. Hwange, Davison’s Camp – faultless. We were met by a wonderful guide and had the most fabulous picnic lunch on the way down to Davisons. The catering was outstanding – every single touch from sherry on arrival, to fabulous afternoon tea, wonderful brunch, brilliant early morning breakfast by the camp fire and excellent dinners and sundowners. We saw loads of animals including the cheetah. It was really wonderful and incredibly beautiful. I can thoroughly recommend Zim. A wonderful country and people with good infrastructure and has the advantage of not being overrun by tourists.

Graham and Angela from Surrey travelled to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and Botswana

Hi Rob, We had a superb holiday, thank you. We’re glad we started with Victoria Falls as were a bit tired at the end of the holiday and the low water did enable is to get a better view. We managed to see leopards for the first time, we witnessed a lion kill and we managed to catch roan, sable, genet, civet and a host of birds too numerous to mention. The guides were excellent at all of the camps and the camp crew / support staff were all good and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was very good in all the camps and the rooms were fine – we wish all tents were as luxurious. Would we go on this type of trip again. Yes. Would we consider using Safari Consultants? Yes.

Graham from Chelmsford went walking in Mana Pools and Hwange National Parks, Zimbabwe

Hello Rob, the post holiday blues will never go away after a holiday like this, it is a case of learning to deal with them. When I had experiences like a pack of wild dog looking at us from 40 yards away, getting to about 10 yards downwind from a bull elephant who knew we were there but could not make out what we were, sitting with James (guide) watching hyena go past us in an open area about 30 yards away wondering what we were (judging by the way they were looking at us), I cannot wait until the next visit.

Adrian and Sally travelled to Zimbabwe and Botswana

Dear Rob, I am writing to say thank-you for organising a wonderful safari, it lived up to our expectations and we all had a lovely time. All the accommodation was very comfortable, excellent and very tasty food. We all enjoyed the true wilderness experience and diversity of the landscape and appreciate that you did ensure we saw different areas so thank-you. The smells and sounds of Africa are of course one of the best bits and I loved the bee eaters which I have never seen before. We do feel we have had a very special holiday so thank-you for all your organisation.
