Dear Rob, overall, it was wonderful – and your organisation was brilliant. We were met at every stage on time and there were no hassles. Nuarro Lodge was very comfortable and our hosts did everything they could to make us welcome and our stay enjoyable. Nthambo camp was fantastic. Our guides Matt and Isaac deserve a special mention because they were outstanding. Matt really took time to share his passion and knowledge about the animals and the bush and it made every trip out of camp and enjoyable adventure. Isaac had 30 years’ experience and was super cool. We really enjoyed the guided walks as well as the game drives, as we were as interested in the small stuff as much as the Big 5. We absolutely loved Waterberry Lodge in Zambia. You really pulled something special out of the bag on this one! Nathan and Gordon, the guides, and every single other member of staff, were so attentive and delightful. The lodge itself was super comfortable and we really, really wanted to stay longer there. Every place we stayed, the food was remarkable, especially given the limitations of getting fresh supplies and the facilities available. I’ve never eaten so much on holiday! So, all in all, a very special trip and your organisation was superb.

Introduction to the spectacular islands of Mozambique
Mozambique is a large, under-developed country which is currently best known for its remote and beautiful beach destinations. Whilst there are a number of incredible beach locations on the mainland, it is arguably the stunning islands of the Bazaruto and Quirimbas archipelagos which attract the most attention. Island properties such as Benguerra and Vamizi offer the ultimate in luxury beach retreats, with stunning empty beaches and wonderful marine nature. If you are looking for an exclusive natural paradise along the East Africa coast, Mozambique is likely to provide the most amazing options.
In safari terms Mozambique is still recovering from years of civil conflict, but Gorongosa National Park in the central region is making real progress and already provides a wonderfully exclusive bush experience for the more seasoned traveller. It is a beautiful park with a wide variety of game and some excellent walking options.
Access to all regions of Mozambique is usually best by air from South Africa, but the northern coastline can also be accessed by air from Tanzania and Kenya. It is also possible to fly in on private charter flights from other southern African countries such as Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Accordingly, a beach holiday in Mozambique can easily be combined with a wildlife safari in any of the major safari destinations.
