Having specialised in travel to Africa since 1983, we are extremely proud and fortunate to have built up a wonderful customer base of repeat travellers, who also recommend our services to their friends, family and colleagues, or even fellow travellers they meet on safari. Our aim is for every holiday we arrange to be perfect for the people who undertake them. Listed below are some of the comments we have received from our customers. Please also visit the AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators) feedback site to see reviews on our services and our clients’ experiences.
Dear Rob, we can’t thank you enough for organising our safari so well. The choice of camps was excellent. Robin’s House was a perfect place to start, very comfortable and the chef excelled himself. Having started a drive almost as soon as we got there, we were lucky to find 2 lioness with 3 cubs feasting on a young Zebra – and young Will’s comment (aged almost 14) at the end of the day was “that was the best day of my life”. Obi, our guide, interacted so well with the young and amazed us all by the depth of his knowledge, especially on our walk through the bush. Tafika surprised us all by being even better. We felt we really were living in the bush. John, Carol, Heather and their staff were very welcoming. Amon, Bryan and Isaac were again profoundly knowledgeable about the birds and animals and their behaviour. We did not think the variety of game was quite as wide in the Lower Zambezi as in South Luangwa. But Old Mondoro itself is very special and even wilder. We all loved Old Mondoro, the extra adventures in canoes and boats. It was the perfect place to end a holiday that none of us will ever forget. Two very special features of all the camps were that they were very small and secondly that we seldom saw another vehicle. Both grandchildren fell in love with Zambia and camp life and are determined to return one day. It was certainly the most exciting experience of their lives. We much enjoyed meeting your loyal clients, Paul and Ruth at Tafika and Old Mondoro. They too speak very highly of your advice and organisation over many years. Thank you again.![]()

Dear Michele, some of our best sightings, most of which we were the only vehicle! Black rhino in the open grass; two different cheetah kills; leopard stalking and hunting wildebeest; Dik Dik fighting; lioness killing wildebeest and gave to three cubs; 3000 + zebra over crossing/croc kills 5; massive wildebeest crossing estimate 300 000; cheetah family – female and 3 cubs playing/drinking; two hippos fighting; all the Marsh pride on a kill; Mara Triangle 1000s of wildebeest massing for crossing to Tanzania with two lioness ambushing the massing, 4 kills in half an hour; two females lions killing zebra 100 yards from us; leopard climbing a tree to reach a kill; cheetah (pregnant) freezing in the grass, as a huge male lion passes her at 10 feet. There were many other sightings of course but the above were the ones we will never forget!![]()

Dear Michele and Bill, I just wanted to say how fantastically the whole trip went and thank you for your impeccable organisation and advice leading up to it. All the practical arrangements worked seamlessly. However the greatest praise goes to Nottens Bush Camp where we had the most amazing 4 nights, 8 game drives and 2 bush walks. Everything was perfect: the welcome; the accommodation – spacious, comfortable, clean and perfect for our family; the staff who were so friendly and helpful; the company of David Notten and his cousin Dale at the evening meals; the food (in particular the amazing cakes at high tea!); the roaring fires to keep as warm whilst socialising with other guests at night; the hot water bottles and blankets to keep us warm on the early game drives; the atmospheric oil lamps that lit the camp and our rooms at night; the superb driver and tracker who took us out for the 4 days (Teniko (spelling?) and Fox) and who gave us so much information about the game and the natural environment. Then of course there was the game viewing which was absolutely outstanding – we had seen the big 5 in the first 24 hours and went on to see so much more, often following the day to day lives of particular animals e.g. the hungry leopard that we saw one morning, we saw make a kill the next evening, we then saw her eating the next day and then finally the hyenas who had stolen the remains of the kill, fighting over the last mouthfuls…absolutely fascinating. We got so close to the animals that our breath was taken away on several occasions. Thank you for recommendation to go to Nottens – it really was a trip of a lifetime.![]()

Hi Michele, we had a brilliant time and sad to be back home. Both Pinewood and Offbeat were awesome. We did have a difficult time coming home through Nairobi but ended up only being delayed by 3hrs. Thank you so much for keeping on top of the airport chaos and liaising. Everything went without a hitch.![]()

Hi Michele, I want to thank you for arranging such an amazing holiday for us. Everything about it was great, and we are still on a ‘holiday high’. We got to see all that we hoped for and much more besides, including some relatively rare animal sightings (we are told) – cheetahs chasing a leopard, honey badgers, African wild dog pack, and a 3m Python. The travel arrangements between hotels and camps was all executed perfectly. The camps were brilliant – accommodation, food, atmosphere. The people we met very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and engaging. The hotels were also just great. Also – you having tipped people off about why we were having the holiday, resulted in a few spot points of ‘special’ treatment at both camps and at Next Paradise. This was a very nice touch. Safari Consultants’ up front advice was all good and prepared us well – so you score on that front as well.![]()

Dear Rob, we are now getting back into everyday life after our wonderful holiday in Tanzania and Zanzibar. Thanks to our initial long discussion on the phone when planning our holiday we got it about right. It was a long trip from Nairobi to Olivers Camp in one day and I arrived with a headache and suffered side effects from malarone which I had taken before, but Justin and Jackie at the camp were excellent. Our driver was experienced at knowing where to find game and was knowledgeable when asked questions. The walking safari with Lewis was incredible, if somewhat scary, when we encountered a young male elephant 100 yards away, but we trusted Lewis’s professionalism and learnt a lot. Gibbs Farm was a wonderful haven and the food was excellent . We enjoyed having a day to tour the farm veg. plot, watch the coffee beans being dried and then a walk to a wood carvers. Serian provided another amazing experience and Alex and Robyn were attentive hosts. The highlight was seeing a close up of a leopard and also driving through the vast expanse of the Serengeti, covered with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest. We had two long days of game drives from 6.30am-6.30pm, taking our breakfast and lunch and these were superb. Breezes on Zanzibar lived up to its name, but was a lovely hotel and we had some long walks on the beach. Stonetown was so interesting and we went to Prison Island to see the Giant Tortoises. I am glad we had a night there because the highlight was sitting in the evening on the floor of a roof top restaurant eating the most delicious food under the stars. So , thank you for all the efficient organisation and your expert knowledge of both the camps and best areas to go to. The holiday certainly lived up to our expectations.![]()

Hi Michele, we had a fabulous time in Zambia, thank you for putting together such a great itinerary. It is impossible to say which place we liked the most as they were all very different and we were looked after so well in each. We saw so much and learnt so much, the guides were excellent. Thanks again and best wishes.![]()
